2016 was a frustrating year for a lot of people – however for me, it was the best year of my life. I’d quit my job to follow my dreams of travelling full time and while everyone else was mourning the deaths of celebrities and losing hope in democracy during Brexit and the US election, I was climbing mountains, diving oceans and exploring new and interesting places. 2016 was the year that I was going to follow my heart – even if it took me to the end of the world. Which it literally did at the end when I celebrated the New Year on a cruise in Antarctica.
The first year has been far more adventurous than I could’ve hoped for. Following my heart took me to places I barely knew existed when I ventured out of Copenhagen in late January. The highlight, however, has definitely been the lovely people that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and being reunited with.
I’ve tried to compile some of the best moments in this video, but it’s been incredible difficult to squeeze all of these lovely memories into a few minutes. And I lost a bunch of material from Central America as well when my phone drowned in a river in Guatemala.
The countries I went through in this video includes:
- Hong Kong
- Costa Rica
And since then I’ve also been to:
- French Guiana
- Suriname and
If you’d like to see a video on any of those specific destinations, let me know in a comment below – I have a bunch of material (except from Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia and Nicaragua where the material is limited unfortunately).
The journey and adventures continues. I’m currently back in Thailand before heading to Australia! Yay ^_^ Follow my trip on social media and join the adventures by using #travelmetender.
Thank you for reading and a special thanks to everyone that made the first year absolutely spectacular! If you’d like to know more about my initial decision check out this blogpost: “I QUIT! I’m wandering off to see the world“.
